Mitutoyo vs. Zeiss
/
The coming week is going to busy - there is much to be done both behind and in-front of the scenes (is “in-front of the scenes actually a thing? I don’t remember ever having heard the term) Anyway, there is a lot to be done. Starting on Tuesday, with Macro Talk (8PM Central Time) we are going to strip away a lot of misconceptions about “resolution”. This is a subject that comes up over and over again, in emails and private teaching settings, and is still a source of confusion. There are at least five different contexts in which the word “Resolution” is used in photography and, for each, the word means something slightly different. I am going to break it down and explain how sensor architecture, image size, print size, lend design, and magnification are related to resolution and, hopefully, remove the mystery once and for all. Thursday is something entirely different - we are going to compare the Ziess Luminar 16mm lens (at 5x) with the Mitutoyo M Plan 5x microscope objective - a comparison we have not done before but one that is going to be very interesting to do. This will start at 2PM, Central Time on Thursday March 12th and will cover the standard setup for both lenses, lighting, stacking and hopefully processing. Which lens is the better macro lens in the studio? Easiest to use? Best image quality? For answers to these questions and more, join me at 2pm Thursday - here is your link to the stream… https://youtube.com/live/w0I26KJx0qw?feature=share
Friday the 13th (again) only this time it is March - our first Crystal art was on a Friday 13th, and I thought it went very well. I am quite sure this Friday’s episode will also go well, even though co-host Harold Hall is off galavanting somewhere. We will still be playing with birefringence and taking a look at the images you have made using evaporated alcoholic beverages. It has certainly been interesting, getting ready for this gathering, but I am not going to say any more right now - come Friday to see how this month has gone! We meet at 2pm on Friday afternoon and your invitation is right here…

Please come - it is free and a load of fun!
Saturday is Pzoom day - 10am until noon - you know the drill! I have some updates to discuss but the majority of the time is yours - bring pictures, introductions, updates, questions, and anything else you want to talk about in a room full of amazingly talented macro photographers!
That is all the planned content I have for you this week (it is enough, I think!).
Thanks for watching and hope to see you soon!
