Water Drops, Objectives, and Pre-stack Editing

By the way…. have you joined our Discord group yet?

In this Circle of Confusion I address three viewer questions. Firstly, what methods do I recommend for adjusting the consistency of liquids used for water drop collision photography? There are a few I like, and one I love. This is the Xanthan Gum that I use, but there are plenty of other options available. You local health food store probably has it also.

Next up, I explain why you can’t change the magnification of a finite microscope objective by changing the amount of extension, but you can do so with an enlarger lens.

Finally, I explain why and how I use local adjustments to edit some images before sending them into my focus stacking software. A useful tool to consider adding to your workflow.
